Biography

Imogen Man is currently one of the top dog portrait artists in the country and has earned a reputation as an artist capable of capturing the personality of her subject with honesty and beauty.

After obtaining a diploma in Fine Art at Wimbledon Art School, Imogen then studied under leading artists at courses specialising in botanical drawing and painting including Rosie Sanders and at RHS Wisley. In 2003 Imogen enrolled at Charles Cecil Studios in Florence, Italy, learning the importance of drawing and painting from life with natural light using a technique called sight size, taught by famous traditional artists. Following three years intensive training Imogen emerged the skilled and impressive artist we see today with her skills ranging from portraits, still life, nude and sculpture in charcoal, oils and pastels.

Imogen has an ability to capture the character of the animal, which has led to great demand initially with dogs and then diversifying into horses and other animals including her love for cows. Since moving to London she has undertaken many commissions, and has currently completed her second commission for the Countryside Alliance to produce the image of their 2011 Christmas card, has drawn the mascot for The Irish Guards, the portrait of the chairman of Harrogate's Royal Hall Restoration Trust and previously exhibited in the Kennel Club Gallery and recently at the Bloomsbury Art Fair. Every year Imogen takes part in the ‘The Decorative Antique & Textile Fair’ and the Affordable Art Fair in London and also has work spread in various places around the UK including the Stourhead Gallery in Wiltshire, ‘Sticks and Stones’ in Marlborough and Pewsey, and the Bluestone Gallery in Devizes.

Imogen is now looking to build a portfolio of work for a solo show.
